About
We’re aiming to cover 1000 miles to raise £1000 for Social Bite to break the cycle of homelessness. Their Social Bite Villages provide transitional housing and support to people experiencing homelessness to help them get their lives back on track. You may also have sampled their excellent brownies and toasties in their cafe on Rose Street, where they employ homeless and formerly homeless people.
About Social Bite
Unfortunately, the current approach to homelessness in the UK does not work. Using temporary accommodation such as hostels and B&Bs does not provide people with the stability and the support that they need to escape a life characterised by destitution and exclusion.
The Village is an innovative, community-based accommodation project that is designed to help people build a better life. The environment helps to equip them with the skills they need to be able to sustain their own, long-term tenancies, secure stable employment, and re-join the society that they have been excluded from.
